  1. Postal Bar Code (Templates Menu, Options...)
  2. In April of 1991, the Postal Service changed the way their automation equipment scanned mail pieces for bar code.  By scanning the entire face of the envelope, the Postal Service can read POSTNET bar code whether printed above or below the address block.

  4. Selecting Options..., under the Templates menu, displays the Templates Options dialog.  When Postal Bar Code is selected, you may select the location for the bar code.  Wide-area bar coding allows you to print bar code above or below the address block, or in the lower right-hand corner.

  6. To obtain information on the maximum and minimum sizes a mail piece must conform to in order to fit through the automation equipment, see the Additional info... screens, under the Apple menu.

  8. Note:  Postal Bar Code is saved for each template.  It is not a general option.
